Yeah! Woo.. an LJ post! holy hell.. what's the world coming to.
Yesterday I got hired at Chili's in Flower Mound and I'll get to work with some of my best buds Lindsay and Candace. Even tho I'll have to drive 25+ minutes to get there, it still should be a "sweet" deal.
Went to the fulton party last night, it was ok.. stayed for a bit then split. I can't wait until eveyone finally moves back this week. We need to get some house warmin' parties up in these joints.
My roommate is not coming until aug 15.. lame. boring.. ect..

I absolutely loathe asking my mother for help. I just needed one page printed.. and my comp decides to screw with me! So the mom is going to print it off at work... Now she's going to walk around as if I owe her some HUGE favor in return.

Woo! Today I took my sister to the orthodontist and Jimmie called me to eat lunch, but unfortunately I was busy... so we have plans to hang out this weekend. I miss that guy soooo much. Everytime I'm in Austin he's either in the valley or driving to the valley. If he doesn't go to the island on Friday I'm going to snag him as my date to Laura's gradation party. I love hearing from great friends.

Third finalist for president position visits university May 04,2004 Kathryn Walson The Monitor
EDINBURG — After an extensive career in public health academia, Dr. Fernando M. Treviño said he’s ready to lead a university.
"What I care about is education, more than being a direct public health practitioner," he said.
Treviño is a professor and founding dean of the School of Public Health at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. He also serves as past president of the World Federation of Public Health Associations based in Geneva, Switzerland.
Treviño on Monday was the third of six president candidates to visit the University of Texas-Pan American. The remaining three finalists are scheduled to visit the campus before mid-May.
In a forum of primarily faculty members and administrators, he took many of the same questions posed to his predecessors — and answered them similarly.
Like the other finalists, Treviño said he wants to make UTPA a widely recognized university with more research opportunities and expanded graduate and doctorate programs, while keeping it accessible.
He said UTPA appeals to him because it attracts first-generation college students, like himself, and it’s involved with the community.
The divorced father of one is a native of Eagle Pass, Texas, a border town located more than 100 miles northwest of Laredo. He speaks fluent Spanish. He said he’d welcome a move to the "beautiful" Rio Grande Valley, which he appreciates for its warm people and proximity to Mexico.
Treviño previously served as executive director of the American Public Health Association in Washington, executive editor of the American Journal of Public Health and dean of the School of Health Professions at Southwest Texas State University.
He obtained his doctoral degree from the University of Texas and a bachelor of science from the University of Houston.
As UTPA president, Treviño said he would consider himself a faculty member, and he would meet with professors regularly, as he does at his current campus.
"I really truly believe in an open administration," he said.
He said he’s helped faculty by offering an incentive program and reducing the teaching load to three courses a year so that professors can devote time to research.
When professors have a preference for teaching or research, it’s okay for them to focus on one, he said.
"Some people are better at one thing or another," Treviño said.
His public health school has grown into a respected program that attracts top students from major universities all over the country and world, he said.
Elena Bastida, sociology professor, said she was impressed with the success of Treviño’s school and with his view of the president as a faculty member.
"He’s been in different roles that have exposed him to different concerns," she said.

I'm so tired. I've spent way too much time with family that I don't know and being attacked by my 26,000 little cousins. I talked to my Uncle Marc about my "career" and what not... it looks like I'll be staying in Denton this summer... YEYEAH! I need to find a hotel/motel job though. I told my parents too.. they really didn't have much to say. : / Rycki and I are driving back up tomorrow morning around 9.. should be in D-town by 5 or so. My Uncle Marc is hitching a ride with us up to San Antonio to catch a flight. Luckily he's a badass young uncle and not one of those old guys. He's down with OPP... no worries. I really have nothing else to say... Nothing witty or poetic, just ramble junkish type of usual post. See you all tomorrow.

WOOOOOO! We've been working on the house until about 4-5 am for the past few nights. The living room is almost finished. It just needs a few touch ups and some more acetone for the floors. We owe a lot to all of our friends that came out to help. We'd still be painting the walls if it weren't for them. Today I think we're going to take on the hall... we'll have to wait and see how that turns out.
I Miss You, I Love You.

I've had it! I had a test at 8am this morning and my roommate was noisy all night. I think I told her every 15-30 minutes to please be quiet, which later lead to Shut the hell up! She was working on some project and throwing things around in my room all night. I finally quit trying to sleep at 6am and got up and dressed. I come back and she's sleeping! she skipped her art class.. she kept me up all night for what? UGH! Now I'm back and I want to take a nap before my next class but she's snoring! I'm so angry right now... its over.
